Hello!! We are the Dynamics Department of UJI Motorsport.
In the dynamics department we are in charge of the study and analysis of all the forces acting on the car, for which we are divided into 5 sub-departments:
– Steering:
Design and assembly of the steering system of the car. This by regulation must be mechanical, consisting of a rack and pinion system actuated by the steering wheel and connected through the steering rod.
– Suspension:
Design of a car suspension system, consisting of 4 shock absorbers, 2 at the front and anchored directly to the car and 2 at the rear located in the subframe.
– Brakes:
Design of the braking system of the car. In this section the regulations require us to have a hydraulic braking system with two independent pumping systems (one per axis) made up of disc brakes. This system must be capable of blocking all 4 wheels of the car completely.
– Geometries:
Design of the geometry of the car wheel wishbones. This consists of carrying out a study of the optimum parameters of the car’s settings and adjusting them to both the driver’s driving comfort and the performance of the car.
– Simulation:
Simulation of the car with the help of computer programmes to study the behaviour of the car in different situations, before its assembly and testing.
This is the end of our dynamics department and we leave you with our video:
